Objective: To investigate the expression of Caveolin-1,E-cad and P53 in papillary thyroid carcinoma and analyze the relationship with clinicopathological parameters.Methods:The expression of Caveolin-1, E-cad and P53 in 96 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma and 34 cases of normal thyroid tissue were detected by immunohistochemistry. The relationship with the clinicopathological parameters was also explored.Results:The positive expression rates of Caveolin-1 and P53 in papillary thyroid carcinoma (72.92%,68.75%,respectively) were both significantly higher than those in normal thyroid tissue(23.53%,14.71%,respectively). There was statistically significant difference (P<0.01). The positive expression rate of E-cad in papillary thyroid carcinoma was 22.92%,which was significantly lower than that in normal thyroid tissues(P<0.01). The expression of Caveolin-1, E-cad and P53 were all correlated with the lymph node metastasis in papillary thyroid carcinoma (P<0.05), however, they were found not correlated with sex, age, tumor size and TNM stage of papillary thyroid carcinoma (P>0.05). Conclusion: Caveolin-1 and P53 are highly expressed in papillary thyroid carcinoma, whereas E-cad is low expressed in papillary thyroid carcinoma. They may play an important role in the occurrence, progression and metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma,and provide theoretically basis for the clinical diagnosis and prognosis of papillary thyroid carcinoma.
