Objective: To investigate the association between creatinine and depression in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Methods: A total of 336 hospitalized patients with CHF in the First Department ofCardiology of the People's Hospital of Shaanxi Provincewere enrolled from August 2016 to September 2017.They were divided into two groups:normal creatinine group (n=168) and abnormal creatinine group (n=168).The general clinical data and laboratory results of two groups were collected, the Hamilton Depression Scale was applied to evaluate the degree of depression,the data above were analyzed using Pearson linear correlation analysis and Logistic regression analysis. Results: In abnormal creatinine group, depression score was significantly higher than that in the normal creatinine group[(14.81±10.94) scoresvs (11.57±8.84) scores, P<0.001], Pearson linear correlation analysis showed that creatinine level was positively correlated with depression score (r=0.190, P<0.001). Logistic regression analysis showed that after adjustment of age, high density lipoprotein,brain natriuretic peptide, red blood cell count, glycosylated hemoglobin, creatinine level is significantly associated with depression score in CHF patients (OR=1.024, P=0.001).Conclusion: Creatinine is associated with depression in patients with CHF. |
