Objective: To investigate the application of perioperative video education in preoperative visits of elderly patients. Methods: A pre-and post-controlled trial was conducted in this study. 100 elderly patients admitted to our hospital from December2018 to Marth 2019were selected as control group. 100 elderly patients who were newly admitted to our hospital from April 2019to July 2019were selected as experimental group. The patients in the control group were given pre-operative visits by means of oral communication; the patients in the experimental group were given perioperative video education on top of preoperative visits.. The Zung Self-Assessment Anxiety Scale (SAS) was used to assess the changes in anxiety values. The blood pressure and heart rate between the two groups beforesurgery, entering the operating room before anesthesia were recorded. The time spent on preoperative visits, the degree of surgical cooperation, the preoperative visit satisfaction, and the perioperative satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results: The experimental group and the control group had the same baseline level of anxiety score, blood pressure and heart rate on day 1 before operation,and there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups. In control group, there was no significant difference in anxiety score and systolic blood pressure between day 1 before surgery and preoperative anesthesia (P>0.05), but the heart rate and diastolic blood pressure increased significantly (P<0.05). In experimental group, there was no significant difference in anxiety score, heart rate, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure between day 1 before surgery and preoperative anesthesia (P>0.05). When entering the operating room before anesthesia, the anxiety score, blood pressure and heart rate of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). The preoperative visit time of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group, and the score of the intraoperative cooperation was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The total satisfaction of preoperative visits in the experimental group was 95.00%, which was significantly higher than that of the control group (86.00%) (P<0.05). The perioperative satisfaction score of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Perioperative video education in preoperative visits of elderly patients can effectively alleviate patients' fear, increase the degree of intraoperative cooperation and perioperative satisfaction, and improve the efficiency of nursing work. It is worthy of promotion and application. |
