Objective: To explore the oncogenic roles of MYC in tumors based on the database of TCGA(The cancer genome atlas) and GEO(Gene expression omnibus).Methods: We tried to research the associations between MYC expression and prognosis,genetic alteration, phosphorylation level, immune infiltration and gene enrichment pathway of tumor.Results: MYC was highly expressed in most ofcancers,the level of MYC expression is related to the prognosis of patients with different types of tumors.We observed the genetic alteration status of MYC in different tumor samples, the highest alteration frequency of MYC appeard in patients with ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma, uterine carcinosarcoma and esophageal adenocarcinoma tumors. We compared the differences of MYC phosphorylation levels between normal tissues and primary tumor tissues. MYC exhibitedhigher phosphorylation level in breast invasive carcinoma,ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma and colon adenocarcinoma tumor tissues compared with the normal tissues.we observed a statistical positive correlation of MYC expression and the infiltration value of cancer-associated fibroblasts for the tumors."RNA transcription" and "cell cycle" might be involved in the effect of MYC on tumor pathogenesis. Conclusions: MYC is expressed in differentcancers, whose functional mechanisms may be associated with protein processing and RNA metabolism. |
