Objective: To analyze the impact of preventive low-frequency pulsed acupoint electrical stimulation on pelvic floor function in primiparous women. Methods: A total of 707 primiparous women who gave birth in a certain hospital from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2022, were selected as study subjects, among whom 347 women were allocated into intervention group, while 360 women into control group. The control group received routine urination training and care, while the intervention group received preventive intervention with low-frequency pulsed acupoint electrical stimulation on top of the routine care. Chi-square test and t-test were used to compare the incidence of pelvic floor dysfunction and pelvic muscle strength between the two groups postoperatively. Results: In the comparison of general clinical conditions between the two groups of women and newborns, there were no statistically significant differences in the data(P>0.05). The incidence rates of stress urinary incontinence, urinary difficulty, uterine prolapse, bladder prolapse, rectal prolapse, and urethral funnel formation in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). There was no statistical difference in the incidence rate of fecal incontinence between the two groups(P=0.12). The distance between the bladder neck and pubic symphysis, bladder neck mobility, and bladder posterior angle in the intervention group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.001). The urethral rotation angle in the intervention group was greater than that in the control group (P<0.001). There was no difference in the anal sphincter fissure area between the two groups of women after intervention (P=0.132). There were statistically significant differences in the electromyographic values during the pre-resting stage, post-resting stage, and fast muscle stage at discharge between the two groups of women (P<0.001). There was no statistically significant difference in the average electromyographic values during the slow muscle stage between the two groups(P=0.080). Conclusion: Low-frequency pulsed acupoint electrical stimulation can effectively prevent the occurrence of pelvic floor dysfunction in primiparous women. |
